Bible tells us in Revelation 19:13, that Jesus Christ is the Word of
God. John chapter one says, "In the beginning the Word already existed.
He was with God, and He was God. He created everything there is.
Nothing exists that He didn't make. Life itself was in Him, and this
life gives light to everyone" (verses 1-5).
"So the Word became human and lived here on earth among us. He was full
of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the
glory of the only Son of the Father" (John 1:14).
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone
who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not
send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it" (John
His name is
Jesus Christ, the only Son of the everlasting Father, the only true and
living God. During His earthly ministry, Jesus showed what God intended
for mankind. Jesus performed the will of God and set an example for us
to follow. Jesus said, "I came that they may have life and have it in
all it's fullness" (John 10:10). This is God's will for man: To know
Him and have life so full that it extends into eternity with Him.
Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed
Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted, to announce deliverance to those who are slaves to a
system and give sight to those who can't see that, to set free those
that are downtrodden, and that God gives blessings to all who come to
Him" (Luke 4:18). "I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and
heart! And the peace I give isn't false like the peace the world gives.
So don't be troubled or afraid" (John 14:27).
Then Jesus did what no other being in the universe could do: He went to
the Cross as the spotless Son of God and shed His blood for the
redemption of mankind. "Greater love has no man than this, that a man
lay down his life for his friends" (John 5:13). Jesus Christ went to
the Cross and paid the price for our transgressions. He did not sin,
but was made to be sin for us that we could be made in right standing
with God through Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). He bore our sicknesses and
our diseases (Matthew 9:17). He was wounded for our transgressions and
bruised for our iniquities (Isaiah 53:5). He paid the awful price for
sin. Not just part of it, ALL of it. And for all time.
That is why Jesus Christ is our only salvation. He is the Lamb of God.
Jesus Christ is the only way to God (John 14:6). There is no other name
under heaven for men to call upon to be saved (Acts 4:12). That name is
JESUS. No other man shed his blood for the sins of mankind. No other
man was resurrected from the dead and sits at the right hand of God.
Jesus is our hope (1 Timothy 1:1). He's the anchor of our soul (Hebrews
6:19). He is the only way (John 14:6). His name is called the Word of
God (Revelation 19:13).
Jesus delivered us out of darkness to give us light to see and live by.
But Jesus is of no value to us until we confess Him as our Lord and
Savior and start living by the Word of God. How do we do it? By
believing God's Word. Believing is faith. "He that comes to God must
believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently
seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6). "For by grace are we saved through faith and
not of ourselves. Salvation is a gift of God, not of works lest any man
should boast" (Ephesians 2:8).
Jesus did it all for us on the Cross at Calvary and God has given this
redemption to us as a gift. We cannot earn it or work for it. We will
not receive this gift by waiting till we're good enough. Jesus Christ
accepts us just as we are. "Jesus stands at the door and knocks. If
anyone hears Him and opens the door, He will come in" (Revelation
3:20). We simply receive Him as we are.
The alternative? To be in eternal torment in the lake of fire prepared
for the devil where there is no rest and no peace. Heaven is real and
hell is no joke. Man is born into sin and unless he is born again of
the spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God (John 3:3, 5). Jesus
Christ saved us from this eternal death and separation from God.
We are reborn of the spirit according to the spiritual law of salvation
which says: "If you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus
is Lord and in your heart believe that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes and with the
mouth he confesses and confirms his salvation" (Romans 10:9-10).
You can change your life for the better right now with a simple choice.
Live in the kingdom of God instead of the kingdom of darkness. Choose
God's way of living and find peace and joy despite the circumstances in
life. Know that you will spend eternity with Jesus. Do you thirst for
that? The Bible says, "Let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let
him take the water of life freely" (Revelation 22:17).
Salvation is free for everyone, but it is not cheap. It cost the Lord
Jesus Christ His life's blood. It will cost you a change in your life.
But praise the name of Jesus, you have a Helper. Jesus has sent the
Holy Spirit to help us rebuild our lives to walk in the way that will
bless us in order that we might receive eternal life with Him.
It's a matter of choice. We either will or we won't. If we don't do
anything, we've made a choice. Perhaps that's what we've done for too
long. It's time we did something different. It's time we made the right
choice. Now is the day of salvation! (2 Corinthians 6:2). Don't put it
off any longer. Tomorrow may be too late. Give your life to Jesus right
now. Accept this gift of eternal life with Him and live your life by
the Word of God.
“The Son of
God became a man to enable men to become the sons of God.”
C. S. Lewis
